Trainee Solicitors Programme

Why Choose Warners?

Warners is a top-tier regional law firm, recognised in Chambers, Legal 500, and other prestigious legal directories. We embrace modernity and innovation while honouring our rich heritage.

Early Career Opportunities

Today’s trainee solicitors are tomorrow’s partners. We are dedicated to nurturing talent, and our training programme reflects this commitment. We onboard two trainees each September, many of whom remain with the firm post-qualification, advancing to senior roles. Several of our current partners, including Mark Davis, Matthew Aves, Kevin Sullivan, and Fiona Taylor, began their careers as trainees here.

‘I started my journey at Warners with just two weeks of work experience and quickly realised this was where I wanted to build my career. The support and guidance I received allowed me to progress seamlessly from a paralegal to a trainee solicitor.’

Comprehensive Training and Development

As a trainee, you will rotate through four different departments, spending six months in each. You will collaborate closely with your supervisor and gain hands-on experience with a variety of legal issues. Our structured training includes:

  • Monthly Meetings: Regular discussions with your supervisor to monitor progress.
  • Regular Appraisals and Feedback:  With Fiona Taylor, our Training Partner/HR team

We believe in continuous development.

Our trainees participate in the Professional Skills Course and a range of in-house training sessions.

"During my traineeship, I rotated through various departments, gaining hands-on experience in areas like family law, private client work, and litigation. The structured training, along with regular reviews, greatly enhanced my practical skills and legal knowledge."

  • Social Events: Including a summer party and Christmas lunch.
  • Inter-Firm Sports Matches: Like rounders and quiz nights.
  • Junior Lawyer Events: Networking and development opportunities.
  • Pro Bono Law Clinics: Giving back to the community.

'Warners fosters a truly supportive and collaborative environment. Even amidst the challenges of the Covid pandemic, the innovative and adaptive strategies we used, like witnessing Wills through garden windows, exemplified our commitment to client service.'
