A Day in the Life with Presley Bee
Our trainee solicitors play a key role across the firm, gaining hands-on experience from day one. To give you an insight into what that looks like in practice, we asked our current trainees to share a snapshot of their day-to-day work across different seats. While no two days are the same, these insights offer a glimpse into the variety, responsibility and support that come with training at Warners.
Presley Bee
First Year Trainee
Current seat: Family
Previous seat: Private Client
I joined Warners in September 2025 and my first seat was within the Private Client team. In March 2026, I moved into the Family team. Having worked previously as a paralegal, the transition to a trainee solicitor has felt like the natural next step in my career and builds upon the foundations I learnt.
I typically arrive at the office at around 8:40am which gives me time to set up, grab a coffee and get ready for the day ahead. I always start the day by catching up on my emails, sorting out my to do list for the day and checking my calendar for any upcoming training or marketing events. Being prepared is crucial for a trainee solicitor, therefore keeping a diary is something I have found necessary to ensure deadlines and tasks are not missed. Despite our advancements in the digital age, I have found a pen and paper to be a key tool for noting tasks and reminders down when I am away from my desk.
While sitting in the Family team, I have assisted in preparing bundles for court hearings in divorce proceedings, drafting consent orders and pre-nuptial agreements, attending client meetings and court hearings to ensure an accurate attendance note is taken.
I take my lunch break at 1pm and this is a chance to take a step away from my desk, explore the local area and recharge for the remainder of the day ahead.
In the afternoon, I continue working through tasks and supporting the wider team. One of the most valuable aspects of the training contract is the variety of work and exposure to different teams across the firm. This is helping me develop my own style and provides an idea of the area of law I want to qualify into.
At Warners, trainees get to work with the whole team at all levels from support staff to partners and each member of the team is approachable and willing to help.
I usually leave the office at 5:15pm provided that there is nothing urgent that needs doing. Each day is different and some days I will go straight home whilst others I will be attending one of my firms marketing events. These events are a great way to network with people from other firms or businesses typically from the local area. They also offer an opportunity to get to know my peers on a more informal basis. On other days (especially a Friday!) I will meet with the other 3 trainees within the firm to catch up.
This seat has given me valuable experience in both client interaction and drafting, and is helping me build confidence as I progress through my training contract.
