Flexible approach facilitates international deal

Warners Company Commercial team, acted for the shareholders of a UK based company in their disposal to a Canadian buyer. The transaction was funded by an American financier and the differences in time zones led to many late nights for our dedicated team.

The buyers decided the week before Christmas that they wished to complete the deal by 31 December to coincide with the end of their financial year.  The first draft contract arrived during the week of Christmas and Warners’ flexible approach meant the sale could be completed on New Year’s Eve.

Almost all corporate transactions have their own tight timescales, but this deal was further complicated by the holiday season and locations of the various professional teams. Fortunately, the size and expertise of our team means that we are able to adapt to situations like this and were pleased to achieve the completion deadline imposed.
