Profile

Corinne Richards is a personal tax adviser in the Private Client Team. She completes self-assessment tax returns, which can include employee share options, foreign income, self-employment, land and property and disposal of assets etc as well as claiming reliefs for investment schemes such as EIS, SEIS and VCT’s.

Corinne prepares profit and loss accounts and undertakes capital gains tax computations to assist in the completion of the tax returns. She also deals with the completion of non-resident capital gains tax reports.

With over 20 years tax experience Corinne started in tax in private banking then moved on to a firm of accountants, where she stayed for 15 years and then move to Warners in October 2014.

Experience

  • HM Revenue and Customs check – acted for an individual who had a check into their self-assessment tax return regarding a disposal of part of their garden and corresponded with HMRC resulting in a successful outcome.
  • Capital Gains Tax – completed a tax return for a client who had sold a second property and calculated and claimed private resident and letting relief to reduce the capital gains tax payable.
  • On an Estate tax to date of death – liaised with a lawyer colleague to bring a deceased’s client’s tax affairs up to date involving several telephone conversations with HMRC before reaching a satisfactory conclusion.
